Feb thru to Nov
Dates: By demand
Total Duration: 1 day
Any day - 10:00 - 3:00 pm
Once the Basic Course has been completed, wallers have the opportunity to learn more about working with more challenging local uncut stone while restoring a section of the original 19th Century dry stone walls at Tanderrum.
In this course wallers could restore a section of straight wall or cheekend if appropriate. Here the stones and construction require further development of a waller's skills under the watchful eye of certified instructors.
In restoring part of Victoria's rural heritage, wallers will have the satisfaction of bringing original walls back to life or repairing sections which have broken down.
Once other advanced courses in curved and sloping walls have been completed, sections of the heritage walls with those characteristics can also be attempted, along with the chance to consider stone lined wells, gate entries and through holes.
Price: This one day experience will incur a charge of $150 per person and includes catering, qualified instructor and use of the Kyneton Dry Stone Wall Centre purpose built training facilities on Tanderrum Farm.
This course is restricted to a maximum of 12 persons.
